TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN PETANI PADI SAWAH (Oryza sativa L) TENTANG PENGGUNAAN PUPUK ORGANIK DI DESA SOLOG

Abstrak

ABSTRACT: This study aims to determine the level of knowledge among wetland rice (Oryza sativa L) farmers regarding the use of organic fertilizer in Solog Village, Lolak District, Bolaang Mongondow Regency. This research employed a quantitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 40 rice farmers who served as respondents. The data obtained were analyzed using descri ptive analysis, percentages, and frequency distribution to determine the farmers' level of knowledge concerning the use of organic fertilizer. The results showed that the level of rice farmers' knowledge regarding the use of organic fertilizer was generall y in the moderate category, with 9 respondents (22.50%) categorized as having low knowledge, 19 respondents (47.50%) categorized as having moderate knowledge, and 12 respondents (30.00%) categorized as having high knowledge. These findings indicate that most farmers have a sufficient understanding of the definition, types, benefits, production, and application of organic fertilizers in rice cultivation, although some farmers still possess a low level of knowledge. Therefore, efforts to improve farmers' know ledge through continuous agricultural extension programs, training, and assistance are necessary to optimize the use of organic fertilizers in supporting productivity and sustainability in rice farming.
