Abstrak

The unlicensed gold mining (PETI) activity in Pindol Village, Lolak District, Bolaang Mongondow Regency has been going on since 1987 and is still difficult to control. This problem requires serious handling from the local government through firm action and law enforcement in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations. The weak implementation of the law has given rise to the term "jungle law" in PETI locations, so the role of the government is very crucial in effectively addressing this problem. This study aims to analyze the role of the government of Bolaang Mongondow Regency in minimizing unlicensed gold mining activities by referring to the regulations for the implementation of general mining management. The research method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive-analytical properties and field studies. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews with government officials, the community, and PETI actors, as well as direct observation in Pindol Village. Data analysis was carried out descriptively to provide an understanding of the government's role in efforts to minimize PETI practices.
