Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of tractor use on rice productivity in paddy fields in the East Pinolosian district. The study employs a quantitative research approach with a associative component. Data consists of primary data obtained through questionnaires and secondary data from relevant documents, literature, and reports. The sample size was 40 rice farmers who use tractors. The sample size was determined using the rule-of-thumb method since the population size was not precisely known. Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression and the coefficient of determination test in SPSS version 31. T-test results showed that the tractor usage variable had a significance value of less than 0.001, indicating a significant effect on rice productivity. The calculated t-value of 6.141 was greater than the t-table value, which further confirms the significance. Higher intensity of tractor use correlates with higher rice productivity. The R-square value of 0.498 indicates that tractor use explains 49.8% of the variation in rice productivity, while other factors influence the remaining 50.2%. Furthermore, using tractors to cultivate rice fields increases labor efficiency because farmers can work more quickly than with traditional methods. These results highlight the importance of agricultural mechanization and suggest that farmers should optimize their use of tractors in rice cultivation
